Slingsby and Dixon was founded by Damian Tarnopolsky in Toronto in 2015. We write and edit all manner of documents, from personal websites to non-fiction books. We also offer editorial consulting, writing training, and research services. We have a special interest in academic research, the novel, and medical and legal writing.
Damian Tarnopolsky has almost two decades of experience as a writer, editor, and critic. Previously an editor at Random House of Canada, his freelance projects include work for academic clients, fellow writers, and many well- known corporations, non-profit organizations, and publishers. He earned his Ph.D. in English Literature at the University of Toronto and holds degrees from Oxford University and the Humber School for Writers. He has taught writing and literature at the University of Toronto, Humber College, and Massey College, where he was the Barbara Moon/Ars Medica Editorial Fellow, and is currently an instructor at the Centre for Facutly Development at St. Michael’s Hospital. His essays and articles have appeared in The Walrus, The Globe and Mail, the Literary Review of Canada, Partisan Magazine, and Toronto Review of Books, where he served as Managing Editor. His creative work includes the novel Goya's Dog, the fiction collection Lanzmann and Other Stories, and The Defence, a play.
